Non-Medicinal Ingredients:
Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, titanium dioxide, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, colloidal silicon dioxide, stearic acid, red ferric oxide and yellow ferric oxide and carnauba wax.
 
Appearance:
Beige, D-shaped, biconvex, film-coated tablet, engraved APO over 20 on one side, plain on the other.

Blister: Clear film PVC 10ml with silver foil backing.
Carton: Solid bleached stock cardboard 0.16".
 
Storage:
Store at room temperature (15 to 30°C). Protect from light and moisture.
 
Indications:
Highest Strength of famotidine available without a prescription
Relieves: Heartburn, Acid Indigestion, Upset Stomach
Prevents: Tough Heartburn
1 Tablet Controls Stomach Acid for up to 12 hours
 
Directions:
Adults and children 12 years of age and older: Take one tablet for relief of acid related symptoms. To prevent symptoms, take 1 tablet 10-15 minutes before a meal.
 
Cautions:
Do not take more than 1 tablet at a time. Do not take more than 2 tablets in 24 hours. If symptoms continue for more than 14 days, talk to your doctor. Talk to a doctor before using this product if you have kidney disease.
 
Drug Interactions:
Consult with your physician or pharmacist before using if: You are taking nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs [NSAIDS] (because these medicines may be causing your symptoms). The efficacy of some anti-fungal medications may be reduced when taken with famotidine.
 
Contraindications:
When APO-FAMOTIDINE Should Not Be Used:
  • If you are allergic to Famotidine or to any component in the medication (See Non-medicinal ingredients)
  • If you are allergic to other acid reducers.
 
Toxicity/Adverse Reactions:
APO-FAMOTIDINE is generally well tolerated. Should any unusual symptoms occur talk to your doctor. Side effects such as headache, diarrhea, lung infections, and vomiting were reported in studies where people took either the drug or a placebo (tablet with no medication). Each group had about the same number of side effects.
 
Symptoms and Treatment of Overdose:
Doses of up to 800 mg/day have been employed in patients with pathological hypersecretory conditions with no serious adverse effects. In the event of overdosage, treatment should be symptomatic and supportive. Unabsorbed material should be removed from the gastrointestinal tract, the patient should be monitored, and supportive therapy should be employed.
