Apotex vs Sanofi - Clopidogrel
The High Court of Australia has on Friday 12th March dismissed Sanofi's bid to appeal the Full Federal Court's September 2009 judgment in favour of Apotex. Apotex now has right to market Clopidogrel in Australia.

Australian Full Federal Court Holds Sanofi Enantiomer Patent Invalid
In August 2007, Apotex applied to the Federal Court of Australia for an order revoking Australian Patent No. 597784 in the name of sanofi-aventis, which covers clopidogrel and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts (the Clopidogrel Patent).

The February 2009 bushfires in the state of Victoria resulted in many lives lost and left even more homeless, leaving a devastating mark in Australian history. In response to this tragedy Apotex Pty Ltd has made a substantial donation to the Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009 and the Apotex staff organised a cake drive as their personal contribution to the appeal.

Apotex recognised at Australian Journal of Pharmacy Awards 2008
Apotex received two very significant awards at the Australian Journal of Pharmacy in the presence of circa 200 Pharmaceutical industry representatives from all sectors. On the basis of a comprehensive national Pharmacy Pulse survey pharmacists indicated that Apotex provide the highest level of service to Pharmacy out of all pharmaceutical companies in Australia. Australian Federal Court holds sanofi enantiomer patent claims invalid
In August 2007, Apotex applied to the Federal Court of Australia for an order revoking Australian Patent No. 597784 in the name of sanofi-aventis, which covers clopidogrel and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts (the Clopidogrel Patent). On Tuesday 12 August 2008, the Federal Court delivered its judgment in this case.

Justice Bennett delivered judgement in the Trade Practices Act (TPA) dispute between Apotex Pty Ltd (Apotex) and Servier (Australia) Pty Ltd (Servier) on 8th May finding that the stamp distributed and 2 full page advertisements published by Servier were misleading and deceptive.
